Who Framed Roger Rabbit... Lives UP!

It's still funny.

For our first ever episode of Live Up, we rewatched Who Framed Roger Rabbit (and got the podcast flagged as "explicit" on Pandora... whoa! Wash those mouths out with soap, ladies). We both had seen this film so many times that we could perform it line-by-line. However, we still have no idea what's going on with the plot; this film greatly overestimates its audience's expertise on probate.

Legal and real estate jargon aside, Who Framed Roger Rabbit lives up to our childhood memories. It's still funny and moody, like an alcoholic with a heart of gold. We still laugh at the "booby trap" bit. We love the attention to detail - like hand animated shadows and reflections - that make it feel like the 'Toons really exist.

So come! Travel with us all the way back to ye ol' 1988... a time before computer animated cartoons, where a middle-aged detective with PTSD will drink his way to a happy ending, a terrifying judge will cause nightmares when his eyes fall out, and a cartoon lounge singer will awaken pubescent lust.
Remember: this was advertised as a children's movie.
