And here we are.
On this episode, we talk through several of the things that make this movie an abomination: Rodney Dangerfield legally should not have been allowed within 200 ft of a kid's movie, the reoccurring pedophilia themes, the bad sports, the idiotic behavior of every character in this film, and the terrible legacy and impact this film may have had on society.
Unexpectedly, we did find common ground on wanting to see more of the Matthew-Martha-Kimberly plotline... Amanda had a childhood crush on actor Jonathan Brandis, and Jess thought he looked like a passable teenage lesbian. We're both here for him/her. What a fun discovery!
Still, it was not enough to earn any praise from either of us. Ladybugs gets zero stars. In the words of a character from an infinitely better film, Billy Madison, "Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
